Nairobi is the only capital city in the world with a national park of wild animals and birds within 7 kilometers from the Central Business District.
Nairobi National Park hosts pride of lions, leopards, cheetah, rhinoceros, giraffes, zebra, impala, buffaloes, coke’s hartebeest, crocodile, hyena, hippopotamus among other wild animals. Elephants are not present in the park because the park is relatively small for elephant’s eco-system.
Bird lovers can see upto 500 species with migratory birds.
Nairobi’s skyline can be seen beautifully from the park with wild animals on the foreground making a picturesque scenery.
A half day trip to the Nairobi National Park can reward you with spectacular wild viewing experience.

Early morning game drive is best time to see wild animals being active. It is also a better time to photograph as the sun is not yet harsh. We search for the big four (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo) with other grazers like giraffe, zebra, impala and birdlife.
Nairobi National Park hosts the largest number of black rhinos (endangered species) than any other park in Kenya hence a rhino sanctuary for breeding and restocking other parks.
A visit to the Ivory Burning Site Monument is in schedule before we check out of the park.
